Well, another adventure begins.... Simeon is taking horseback riding lessons with three friends! He's been twice so far, and doing great. We told him after the first lesson that if he wanted to continue he would need to use his own (birthday) money. Despite numerous mosquito bites (somehow it didn't occur to me that we would need bug spray!) he was excited to do that. Here are some pictures from the first lesson! The horse he rode (actually a pony) is named Two-Bits and is 200 pounds overweight because he eats all the time! It really reminded us of the Spanish song Jill taught the children recently... "No seas como el mulo o el cabllo, que no tienen discernamiento, el cuyo brio hay que domar, con brida y frena, para acercalos a ti." There are probably some misspellings in the Spanish there (I typed that out from memory)... but it says "Don't be like the horse or the mule who lacks discernment (or has no understanding), and whose spirit has to be tamed by a bit and bridle for them to come to you. -Pretty cool that we don't have to be like that pony who has zero self-control and discernment! It was awesome to see the verse "come to life" and take on some real meaning for the children (and myself!) while we were there:-)
