Thought I had better finish up posting these summer pictures on here so that we can get to some more recent tidbits:-) Anyhow, here are some shots from Tahquamenon Falls State Park, also in the Upper Peninsula! We spent only one day here, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Something about the woods and the whole atmosphere felt really inviting and relaxing to me, and made for a really nice time! We left the park late in the evening and drove back down to the Lower Peninsula and spent the night in Petoskey (home of Michigan's state stone, the "Petoskey Stone" i.e. fossilized Devonian coral). We found a few pieces, not "perfect" chunks or anything, but it was fun digging through all the rocks looking. I should mention our highlight of Petoskey, which is rather untypical, but was the Best Western's indoor, heated, empty pool! (We ditched camping the last couple nights in lieu of a shower, and being dry as the weather was kind of drizzly by this point.) Anyhow, the children spent about 6 hours in the pool the first day and made a lot of progress jumping in and learning to swim! OK, enough of that... here are the pictures.
